Looking forward to a great Season.
Little Neck Soccer
Congratulations to Little Neck Falcons Boys U8 for taking second place at the OUSC 47th Annual Rudy Larmonica Memorial Indoor Tournament. After a break for the winter and with 3 new players just added to the team, Little Neck Falcons fought hard for 84 minutes at the Oceanside tournament. We are very proud of our boys for this accomplishment as a new team. Besides the second place medals, our tiny goalie, a true Falcon, soared higher than expected and became the MVP Goalie of the tournament.
Congrats Falcons and good luck for the spring season.
The BU16 Little Neck Monsters came roaring back into action in the opening two games of the post-Columbus Day New York Premier League 1st Division season.
The Monsters opened on October 20th against the Latin Stars SA with a 1-0 victory. The lone goal was netted by Phellymain Landveld (Bayside HS, ’16) coming off the bench in the 23rd minute. The Monster back line was typical in pushing back pressure, allowing goal keeper Simon Motherway (Molloy, ’16) a shutout in his first league appearance for Little Neck.
The Monsters followed that showing with a 3-1 victory against White Plains on October 27th at Parker Stadium. The first and third goals were scored by Filip Jovanovic (Bronx Science, ’15) while Sid Tarafder (Cardozo HS, ’15) notched the middle.
The delayed season compensates for the High School season, during which most of the boys were busy representing their schools. The outdoor season will last into the winter months as the Monsters battle for the top spot.
The Little Neck Knights continued their winning ways by taking the championship at the Columbus day tournament in Ridgefield Connecticut.
The Knights went 4-0, scoring 14 goals while conceding only 2. The boys have been working hard and training twice a week with Chris Miller and we are now starting to see all the hard work pay off.
7th & 8th Grade Girls
Are you looking to play high school ball? Are your current team practices not what you are looking for? Maybe Little Neck is for you. Little Neck Cheetahs (GU-13) and Little Neck Leopards (GU-14) have room for a couple of committed field players and goalkeepers.
Conveniently located near the Queens/Nassau border, we train Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (attendance at 2 of the 3 is expected, the third is optional) during the season (March – June). With Long Island Junior, LI Cup, and ENY State Cup schedules this spring, there is plenty of soccer to be played.
If you are looking to join a committed group of girls that love the game of soccer, with an eye towards playing High School ball, this may be for you.
